Get On Board South Yorkshire CIC has a mission; to encourage and ensure participation in skateboarding for females and young people.

This CIC is founded by Emily Jones, a female skateboarding coach. It is has become evident through research that taking part in Outdoor Adventure Education can positively improve young people’s lives.

Our vision to create a community where females and children gain confidence to improve skills at a safe space, enabling them to go to skateparks outside out lessons feeling confidence, comfortable and finding it easier to make friends.

The 2020 Olympics sparked lots of young people to try out this thrilling form of exercise with more opportunities than ever before and since lockdown; over 70,000 people have started skateboarding according to recent statistics. Skateboarding has since grown into a professional and well-respected sport.  It’s an important ethos to Get On Board South Yorkshire C.I.C that within our local area we can ensure young people are active, safe, and happy and access to more opportunities to improve their social and interpersonal skills.
